Kemble Solar Farm

Batt Cables Powers Sustainability at Kemble Solar Farm

https://vimeo.com/1107718604/befe3ff08e Progress towards a sustainable future depends on collaboration, innovation, and projects that deliver real impact. The Kemble Solar Farm is one such project redefining what renewable energy can achieve. With a planned capacity of 49.9 MW, this groundbreaking initiative will power 14,441 homes annually and significantly contribute to the UK’s net-zero targets. Batt Cables is proud to play a crucial role in this development by supplying the advanced cabling required for its 9 km grid connection. Here’s how Batt Cables contributed to this forward-thinking renewable energy project and why Kemble Solar Farm matters for the climate, biodiversity, and local communities. The Kemble Solar Farm at a Glance Located near Cirencester in Gloucestershire, Kemble Solar Farm exemplifies the potential of solar energy to revolutionise how we generate electricity. Set to be completed by September 2025, this impressive solar farm aims to deliver benefits not only to the environment but also to the local community. Key Features of Kemble Solar Farm: But this project isn’t just about energy production. It also incorporates a robust commitment to ecological enhancement. A 30% net gain in biodiversity will be achieved through dedicated land management efforts, including the creation of wildflower meadows, tree planting, and hedgerows. Batt Cables’ Role in the Grid Connection One critical aspect of any renewable energy project is its ability to transfer generated electricity effectively to the National Grid. For Kemble Solar Farm, this process depends heavily on the quality and reliability of its grid connection. That’s where Batt Cables comes in. We supplied 48 km of 630mm 33 kV cable to support the farm’s 9 km grid connection. Our high-performance cables were chosen not only for their capacity to handle large power loads but also for their durability and efficiency, essential in such a major renewable energy project. Why Our Cabling Solutions Were Essential: The 630mm 33 kV cable is perfectly engineered to handle the transmission requirements of large-scale renewable energy systems. Long-lasting performance is essential for a project of this magnitude. Batt Cables’ products ensure low transmission loss and minimal maintenance requirements. Our cables represent an alignment with sustainable practices and stringent quality standards, ensuring that the infrastructure behind renewable energy projects is as sustainable as the energy itself. This collaboration demonstrates how expertly engineered materials and trust between partners can bring ambitious projects to life. By working alongside Powersystems, we ensured that Kemble Solar Farm’s infrastructure was as robust as its vision. “Batt Cables played a crucial role in the successful delivery of the Kemble Solar Farm grid connection. Their responsiveness, technical expertise, and ability to meet tight delivery deadlines ensured the smooth installation of over 48 km of 33 kV cable.
